Hope all is well. We were established with the objective to publish a broad range of open-access journals, which is fast and efficient with rapid publication and high visibility to help researchers grow at all levels – students, research scholars, postdocs, professors and scientists, seeking publishing opportunities for their research work. JOMFP has always been at the vanguard of delivering you the in and out of oral pathology, oral microbiology and forensic odontology, albeit with a difference. We have constantly endeavored to make our journal interesting, conversant and reverent with a high degree of success and international repute, thus upholding the standard of the profession.

Let me pull back the curtains here at JOMFP's journal status. This year, we have received a whooping of more than 500 manuscripts by the end of November and the numbers are still increasing. In general, I always maintain a good equilibrium between the number of manuscripts received and that published in our journal. Though we are open to anything related to oral pathology, we accept only those manuscripts focusing on interdisciplinary fields which are interesting, thought-provoking and inspiring that spur readers into exploring new ideas. Many articles related to COVID-19 have been submitted and with conscious efforts, our editorial team is reviewing and discouraging in which similar studies, observations and facts have already been updated. We are certain that our journal provides top-quality naive articles, which will be an important conduit for scientific knowledge on a comprehensive oral pathology and dentistry level.

On behalf of the editorial board, I shall take this opportunity to thank our readers, reviewers and contributors for their hard work. We also hope our readers shall endure to find valuable and interesting information from our journal and to consider submitting their manuscripts with us. At the same time, I would like to share that Wolters Kluwer Publishers has come up with a new webpage and an online portal for authors; it would take some additional phase to upload manuscripts there, but we promise to ensure smooth processing of the same even though there were initial hiccups and the website was under maintenance for more than a fortnight. Our editorial team's efforts to improve and expand the journal have been vigorous and long; with reviewers' support, we are keeping up with the pace and finishing the process with mighty support from the production staff. At this juncture, I apologize to the authors of the article – “Rare phenomena of tacrolimus-induced gingival hyperplasia” – which was published online in the previous issue where in the printed copies, the abstract was replaced with that of a different article. This error was neither from the editorial team nor from the proof readers of the production team in charge of the journal, but from the printing partners of the publishers. However, online status, and in the website the corrected version have been reflected. Regret the inconvenience caused for the authors and readers for the same.

On behalf of myself, the editorial board and the office bearers of IAOMP, we congratulate Dr. Vinay Hazarey for being awarded the prestigious Diploma Membership MFDS by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.

We have included more columns for the authors to submit manuscripts, which envisions issuing high-quality, peer-reviewed original research, review articles, case reports and emerging hot topics that will serve to create a holistic understanding of our subject. We also invite authors to send for the same. Happy holiday season.
