Sir,
I read the article on conferences [1] with great interest, wherein our senior author [1] has raised many relevant issues and has provided an opportunity for introspection, which is more appropriate in our setup since we work with many limitations and more importantly with financial constraints. There is no doubt that conferences provide not only a platform for the presentation of current research information, but also an opportunity to interact with learned people, which is very useful particularly when we get the right people who are the best in their field. We would all agree with the author that we should judiciously use the opportunity to meet at scientific conferences and use this only for scientific purposes and nothing else. [1] I welcome the author's suggestion that we should limit the number of conferences and make appropriate use of resources, time, and money, for example in enriching the scientific literature.
