Dear friends
We, the editorial team of JOMFP, wish you all a prosperous and plentiful new year 2005. Also, we wish the organisers of the 13th national conference of IAOMFP at Calicut, a grand success and a deserving reward for their efforts.
The frequency of submission of manuscripts to JOMFP is showing signs of hope in the recent past, which we believe will lead us into publishing more articles on original research.
By sheer coincidence or by fortune, a year after we have conducted our national conference based on the HIV/AIDS, our government has granted free anti retrovirals for advanced cases of AIDS. We believe the government will continue to play an active role in improving healthcare in our country.
As regarding the quality of research in India, we wish that an ethical committee now called as the institution of review boards be established to elevate our research to set international standards.
During our two year tenure at the editorial board of JOMFP, we believe we have been successful in elevating the standard of articles and the quality of printing in JOMFP. Also, we have put in enough effort and succeeded in maintaining the regularity of the journal issues. We have received the International Subscriber Serial Number (ISSN) for our journal. Further, we have applied with the Indexing committee at National Library of Medicine for Index Medicus®/ MEDLINE®. Our journal will be taken up for consideration in the next review in 2005.[Figure 1]
